Let some color in!!!

As much as I love neutrals and black&white combos, everyone who reads this blog knows that I'm a big sucker for color !

This outfit wasn't inspired or planed, but was built on a simple "matching". The color of the skirt matches perfectly the yellow hues of the blouse, and usually I would think this isn't a good idea, but it seems to work here.

Generally I decided that there's a lack of skirts in my wardrobe. I own about 5 black skirts, all of them different shapes, but I don't own a brown skirt, or for example an olive skirt...Lack of these two colors is driving me crazy, because I can't build outfits with my favorite fall hues (and I'm planning to take care of this problem next time I'm shopping)...

Other thing that's on my mind (I have plenty of course, but here's the place I talk about fashion related subjects so...) is packing. Yes, I didn't even start packing, but considering I have only one suitcase to bring there, it will be quite a short task... Not an easy one though :)
How do you pack for one year?  Basics mostly for me, but I also want to take some key pieces with me (it's a fashion school after all). Packing for winter is not easy also because on top of everything you have to bring boots, coats, scarves etc... anyway, you get the idea... I'm screwed!!! :)

P.S: Pardon me for my blond roots peaking in every pictures and looking like I have spots of hair missing...Visiting my hairdresser asap this week:)

Zara picks

I forgot to tell you about my last trip to Zara, which raised some interesting questions...

I have to give it to this store: I can never leave empty handed...and while there's enough of competition around, I still find myself drawn to this particular one (next runner up: H&M)

Many people can't find themselves there, but once they come with me, they change their minds...and let me tell you, I have created some Zara "monsters" :))

Last trip to Zara was a family one: my mom, cousin and my brother's future wife. I went in with one thought "Limited weight: I'm only allowed to bring one suitcase to Italy", but that's not how things went down...
It started with me finding a great leopard coat (the right shade, the right size, the right shape...perfect!) then I put my eyes on this blouse, which is oh so trendy but still seems very classic somehow (I adore the sleeves) and then, just when we were walking out, my mom spotted this tweed dress (very sixties so pretty)....Of course I wasn't the only one who bought stuff, so loaded with bags we headed to another shopping spot, where we went to...Zara!

There my cousin spotted a pair of  thigh highs for me in the window...luckily there was a last pair left there, which just happened to be my size... I was very proud with my finds

Afterwards, my cousin (who lives in Moscow) raised a very interesting subject: she was very cautious about her purchases: "it can't look like it's from Zara, can't be recognizable"...

This sounded very strange to me, since I don't really mind telling people where my clothes from, but she really cared: "Everybody goes there, shops there, but not the obvious stuff, like your leopard coat, everyone will know it's from Zara", she told me...

I have to say that her words did intrigue me, and while I still can't understand what's wrong with buying from high street stores (as long as you know your style you can buy anywhere!), I did get the point she was trying to make...

Is it really about the label? What's the difference between Zara leopard coat and Balmain's renown jacket? Everybody will recognize it as well, it just means you have more money to spend on your clothes...

I think it's not about who, but how...
What do you guys think about that?

Take 2

From one post in two weeks to two posts in a row...quite a change...

Actually I have some free time on my hands and I truly enjoy doing nothing: surfing my favorite blogs, reading the news, catching up on the fashion week pics...

Lately I received some mails asking me wether I'm going to continue updating while in Italy, and while at first things might be slow, I promise that it will get only better: I'm going to be where the fashion is actually happening so there will be plenty of inspiration and ideas...and thanks to a two day weekend instead of one, I will actually have time to update! (I hope)

The move is only a couple of weeks away (17 days, I'm counting) and I'm super excited!!! But of course also worried about how everything will turn out to be...

Now about the clothes: This Chloe blouse appeared here, when I was in NY (I already want to go back!) but I felt like I didn't get it enough love :)
I actually bought it on my Birthday on some serious discount (and it was still expensive) but I loved it so much and also wanted to feel what's it like to shop at Sacks Fifth Avenue...so it was a birthday gift (one of many:) )

The skirt is a favorite vintage find, the clutch is also vintage, and the shoes are from Topshop...

Looking for the next Chloe SS collection ...

Kisses!

חג שמח ושנה טובה!

There are many thing that I catch myself saying "my last": my last holiday eve at work (which was a total craze by the way), my last hair appointment, last time I meet a certain person etc...and although I do know that I'll probably will be back in a year (but who knows what will happen?), I know that my life will return to be the way it is now...
That is why I let myself to be in some sort of denial (I'm leaving in about two weeks I'm not ready at all !!!) and let myself spend the holidays as usual without the fears and the pressure that accompany me the last few months...

So I didn't do a proper "Rosh ha Shana" post (Once again I didn't have the time, I worked like a crazy person) but I do have pictures from a Jerusalem trip I made with my cousin, and although I don't go there that often, I also had some sense of closure when I got there...

Yet again, I'm short with words, as I worked today also and I have about half an hour to get ready for family dinner. The outfit is pretty simple and is meant for a day outside in a crazy heat so I was opting for comfort here...Shirt+pants: Zara, Flip flops (yes I do own a pair or two :))) ) Havaianas...

Wish everyone a wonderful year filled with love, happiness and success !!!

Kisses!

No time to breathe

I've been a bad blogger lately, but believe me, it's really not because I'm lazy...I'm a little bit overwhelmed with work, family and the "big move"...There's no other way to explain it, just I really don't have the time to breathe...

But things will get better and I was ready for this period of time, when everything is hectic and crazy, but I didn't think there will be so many issues I need to take care of and it's holidays! Which means some things will happen later than I need them to... Too bad I don't even have time to tune in and see what's going on with the fashion week and my favorite blogs...

Anyway, enough about that :)

Since this is once again a night photos, I just had to add some sparkles and sequins with my favorite leather skirt and top... This color combination: Black and pale pink is one of my favorites: it looks fresh and elegant at the same time... I kept my jewelry minimal but I feel like a chunky necklace would work good as well (I don't have something like that but maybe I'll go jewelry hunting this week at Gan ha Hashmal).

The shoes aren't new, I got them in NY (amongst others) at Century 21 for 100$ which is a find and is the same price as Zara shoes for example...I'm very proud of myself for snatching to pairs from that sale section :)))

This time I will be short, so have a great week everyone :)

Chained

I decided to start posting more often, since I'm about to disappear for a while after my move: it will take time to find an apartment and to install an internet connection there...

So until then I will make an effort not to be a lazy blogger :)

This outfit is and oldie but goodie as I call it: so familiar but still so relevant (at least for me), the only thing that changes are the shoes...I wore it last winter with tights and thigh high boots and jacket, but it works with sandals as well...

Since winter I'm obsessed with piling on chains and necklaces Givency style and now I started to mix silver and gold together and I'm very pleased with the result...

I still didn't receive my September issue of Vogue one of my favorite treats for fall (I did receive Vogue Russia though and it's great) and speaking of it, I really really want to see the documentary...I'm quite excited about it!!! Funny how each fall I start to feel excited about fashion again...

On a more personal note (I already twitted about it), my cousin arrives from Moscow on friday and I'm really excited to see her (last time I saw her we were still little girls)... Each family member is responsible for a different part of entertainment : Eilat, Jerusalem...and of course I'm responsible to take her shopping in Tel Aviv... I'm thinking Gan ha Hashmal, Masrik, Dizengoff etc... It's going to be fun :)

This time the whole outfit is from Zara...:)

Hope you already having a great week!!!
