Missing Milano

Im pretty sure that it's pretty obvious from my blog and to everyone who knows me, that I miss the great time I had in Milan. The only downfall there was not having my boyfriend around for long periods of time. But other than that I loved it there.

Last year this week I was busy cleaning and scrubbing my little apartment and getting ready for school, I loved this feeling of anticipation and excitement. So as a true Cancer zodiac sign I love reminiscing and I decided to post my favorite images from my time there, and to remember a great year. Kind of like a scrapbook :)

New York!

I was contemplating about this post, because I wanted it to represent the city in the best way possible. And the perfect location was right in front of my nose, or more correctly right above: the rooftop of our building. I first got to enjoy it during the July 4th celebrations, with the amazing view on fireworks, but then it didn't occur to me that the roof is open all the time. So it's just a great place to hang out, or even get a tan.

Life in NY is so much different from life in Milan. In this case there is no better or worse, just different. New York is filled with energy, light, constant movement and Milan is calmer and much more settled, you don't get the feeling of a big city there. And while I do enjoy the city very much, I still miss the quiet streets, the food and my friends there...And Im wondering how my next visit to Milan will happen...

Besides the change Im still trying to adapt to, I'm also trying to adapt to the wardrobe change. What felt like a normal daily outfit in Milan, feels like overdressed in New York and so my wardrobe is going through changes. Third of it by the way is still in Milan, hopefully it will arrive some time in September with my friend Karen :)

The dress in this post is a new purchase. It's from the collaboration line of Uniqlo with Costello Tagliapietra, the design team I highly appreciate. Their work with drapery and jersey and their attitude towards dressing women and production of clothing is really impressing. One of my biggest projects in school were done about this duo and since then I was obsessed to have one of their dresses. Of course the price tag made it kind of impossible, so once I saw the capsule collection at the Uniqlo shop I tried almost every dress on, picking up this one, because it seemed the most versatile.

The shoes are Balenciaga from last year and the necklace came from young and very talented designer/stylist Noey.

Hopefully if everything goes well, from now on the posts should be more frequent as Im reunited with my photographer :)

Have a great week! Kisses!

Ciao Milano!

Two days ago, I packed all my things, left my sweet little apartment near the Sempione park and took a flight from Milan to New York.

I still can't believe that my Marangoni days are over along with my days as a student in Milan. The whole shift happened quite fast and I still have a huge suitcase waiting for me in there (I brought too many clothes there)...I am sure will be missing Milan, the streets, the pizza, the gelato, proscuitto, mozzarella, prosecco ...you get the point :) But mostly I will (and already am) miss my dear friends and the crazy times we had together...

The next couple of months I will be spending in New York, trying to meet some interesting people, enjoying good food and everything else the city has to offer...If you're here, write me, I will be happy to meet :)

The photos are taken last week on my birthday at one of my favorite streets in Milan, via Madonnina, it is right next to the Marc by Marc Jacobs shop and it is picturesque and beautiful...The dress is 10 euro vintage find at the monthly vintage fair and is one of my favorites this summer...
