Same yard, same clothes and a different state of mind...

So I still didn't figure out what this weather is all about, I'm all tights and layers so discovering that  I have to get rid of those extra layers (and some extra weight I gained while eating burgers with bacon and not feeling it under all those layers in NY) is quite upsetting. Most of the time I literally feel overdressed style wise but underdressed when it comes to the number of garments I put on myself before I leave the house. As it turns out permanent weather changes are tricky!

But it is cold enough for a jacket now, at least come evening, so I decided to use my old old Zara clothes (everything in this post is Zara, very boring of me!) in order to create something that is relevant for now. I'm still lusting after this amazing red coat they have on their website but I will probably have to suck it up...

This skirt is too short for my current liking and I doubt it will be used too much without tights pared to it, but i liked how navy and the camel pairing together so nicely and creating somewhat a fresher look than my regular black skirt. Maybe I should look for a longer replacement.

I feel like it's the right time to introduce some high red heels to my wardrobe...I believe this outfit would benefit from this addition, at least for night time...I'm thinking some Isabel Marant style pointy shoes?
Even though I can't do kitten heel (I feel my legs won't benefit a thing from this style) I would look for something a bit chunkier with the same concept. I wish they made  these in red...

Walking on the Highline...

Visiting Meatpacking district this weekend was definitely a great idea. Although I spent quite a lot of time in the area (and still have a few days ahead), I still cannot get tired walking around this beautiful area.

In the program was a brunch at Pastis (It was great: Oysters, cocktails and Creme Brulee for dessert) and a walk around shops and the Highline : a beautiful park that was built on former rails of freight trains.

Anyone that goes to NY should definitely visit this place: you get a view of the beautiful Meatpacking district and the river and on a clear day a Statue of Liberty from far.

Outfit wise I went for my trusty Celine jacket. I have to admit that I brought here only this jacket and camel coat for a colder weather, which left me with really little choice once it got too cold for blazers.

The basic black skirt is a new purchase from Zara: I needed a replacement for my "Sonia for H&M" skirt that started to look beaten. Shoes are Tosca Blu and were bought at some outlet near my apartment in Milano. Scarf is Yigal Azrouel and already became a fall favorite.

Lazy Sunday

This Sunday was one of those days when you just want to be lazy without staying home and watching TV.

So we walked up the Madison and later spent a few hours at MET. The fall is here and I can't wait to see the park in it's full yellow and red glory. I love fall...

We're leaving New York in about a month and I am already sure I'm going to miss it so much...although I have new (not fashion related though) things coming up, I'm still uncertain about the future. Still, I learned a lot during my stay here and met some wonderful people who inspired and taught me a lot.

This is the time to make the best of the fall's trends because soon enough the winter will be too harsh to show off the layers and everyone will have only their coats to rely on. It's a good thing it's a staple piece this winter.

Time to work time to play

The weather is shifting towards real fall. I even had a chance to wear some knits!

Unfortunately I don't really have the time to take proper images for the blog so I took advantage of my "work" station and snapped a picture with the mannequin. Sorry for my tired looks, but I figured the purpose is the outfit anyway.

This wonderful and amazing skirt was designed by my friend Karen. I love the silhouette, it's very flattering and goes so well with this season's trends. I feel very fabulous every time I wear it!

The sweater is vintage Ungaro, bought from Etsy for less than 30$. I was very excited when I got this sweater. I'm very much into vintage and I love to discover interesting facts about the items I find. The sweater has an inside label of Gruppo GFT. Everyone who studied history of modern fashion probably knows that this company was one of the major and pioneer mass producers of designer clothing, including Valentino, Armani, Dior, Ungaro and many others. So it is nice knowing where your clothes come from even if they aren't new.

The shoes are my trusty United Nude pumps. All together it was very fall inspired look with a color palette to match.

Maximizing

My favorite "go to" outfit these days: A black maxi skirt I bought from H&M with a tank top of some sort and a cropped jacket.

It's a great way to wear fall look and layer, since the weather here is so fickle.

In this case I wear an H&M tank top and a vintage jacket.
