The hair tales

If you read my blog from the beginning you probably noticed that I have issues with my hair. Unfortunately this doesn't mean that it is always perfect, it is exactly the opposite.

If not given the proper attention, it looks quite bad, tired and undecided: is it wavy, is it straight, does it have volume or is it flat? My hair has a life of its' own and only on rare occasions it looks good natural. These occasions usually occur when I go to sleep with my hair wet and wake up to find free and wild curls, giving me that effortless but chic look. But this happens very rarely. Usually I have no other choice but to blow dry it. And when I do it myself, it never looks good enough! So my next step is to get angry and just tie it in a bun...

My hair: the way it should be... back in Israel

Why I suddenly decided to write about hair? Well, there are 2 reasons: first is because my photographer is still absent, and the second one, well, you probably guessed it, I am so frustrated with my hair right now...

My savior was my good friend and hairdresser whom I visited quite religiously once a month. In Italy I went to a hair salon only one time, but the experience scared me so much, I rather put my hair in a bun...which I usually do!

What happened was that they got it all wrong: the easiest dark chocolate became a burgundy on my roots, the blow dry fell apart after only half an hour...And don't even get me started on the haircut! And I paid for it twice more than I would pay in Israel...

I miss the good hair days!!!

This tragic event led me to a very brave decision to let my boyfriend dye my hair with the simple hair color kit. Poor thing, he couldn't believe I would actually make him do it. There was some screaming, some hair pulling a stained forehead, but I have to tell you: he did well. We picked the right color, there were no obvious spots and my roots were the same color as the rest of my hair! Mission accomplished! Unfortunately we didn't take pictures, but I can assure you it looks much better than after the hair salon!

Now I need to convince him to cut my bangs and learn how to blow dry :)

Beautiful day

Well, the hardest part is behind...I have a weekend off thanks to my manager but sadly, as always I got ill, and as I sit here with my laptop, my nose running and all that, I'm going through the pictures my friend Yulia and I took this Thursday, while we went to Jaffa to find hummus (which we didn't by the way, because we went the opposite direction), anyway it was such a great setting, I just couldn't let the opportunity to take some pics for the blog pass...

Jaffa has so many beautiful spots and little hidden corners that are just magical. And although I also live in a town with quite a history, there isn't much left of it, and most of the buildings are new...

This dress is from Topshop, and while it seemed plain on the hanger , it has so much hidden opportunities and most importantly a big opening on the back which is perfect for ventilation in the summer...the boots are the one of my greatest finds: they cost 50 shekels on sale in Zara last year and i can't take them off this week...

P.S I feel like myself again with my new/old hair! and I wanted to thank Yulia for the wonderful photos!
What should one order from NY? I mean besides the obvious Sephora/ VS stuff?
Almost forgot: there's an article about israeli bloggers on Mako, and I'm in it!!! Link...

White jacket

I started wearing jeans...after a long time it felt kind of right again...I have to say that I still prefer skirts over pants...For the last couple of years I considered myself as quite "bootylicious" (wish I could go back to my 18 years old very thin self), so skinny jeans were a no no unless paired with some kind of blouse that will balance the proportions...
But somehow I found myself without even one decent pair of straight leg jeans...only skinny or wide leg...this has to be taken care of :) So I'm on the search for a great pair of jeans (I actually hate shopping for jeans, it's not really fun for me, more like buying the necessities).

This jacket is actually cream (and not white as it appears on the photos) with thin black pinstripes and is very nice...and I have no idea why it was hanging new with tags attached in my closet for almost a year, I guess it just needed to be paired with jeans :)

As you can see my hair is shorter, I cut it because I didn't like the previous haircut ...so it was the only way to fix it...funny how I don't really miss my long hair, I guess I wasn't that attached to it after all :)

I have to admit I barely have time to update the blog because I only wear my work clothes during the week (which basically limits my choices to one label only) and I'm too lazy to dress up on Saturdays to take pictures especially for the blog...

Right now I'm really sucking at multi tasking, and there is so much stuff I have to do. First is to apply for Italian visa, which is quite complicated process with loads of documents and requirements. Second I have to learn Italian as soon as possible and third I completley abandoned my workout regime, which saddens me since I just started to see the results...Well, I hope I'll get my self together after the holidays...

The straight version

Well, here's the straight version of the haircut...I actually had something simple in mind, but I guess this also works :)

It's a new world for me while dressing: everything looks so different with red, and I do like it...But before I discover bright colors like pinks and yellows etc...I wanted to go for darker calmer colors to show off the hair.

Mostly people go for this kind of drastic change while going through drastic changes in their lifes: like break ups etc'...I think that I did it because I want a change (mostly proffesionaly, my personal life is great as it is:) )...I know that new haircut won't bring it but maybe my state of mind will :)

Like new

I color my hair for many many years. My natural hair color is honey blond, but I think I look much much better with chocolate brown, and most of the people agree with me.

Because of many reasons, my laziness being the main, I didn't color my hair for almost 3 months, which left me looking very frumpy and generally bad...

Today I finally went to the hair salon (my hairdresser is one of my childhood friends) and here are the results:

I wear this hairstyle for almost two years, and refuse to change it...although sometimes I'm thinking about going short...
