My favorite kind of flowers

I will never get enough of flower dresses, especially vintage ones... there is something about older designs that makes the dresses much more romantic and not as loud as the modern prints...

Like this vintage Ted Lapidus I bought about a year ago and still can't fall out of love with...Even though the colors are quite flashy, the flowers are big and the print is all over the dress, it manages to stay delicate and soft. So delicate in fact that I didn't even hesitate when I paired it with these crazy fringe heels...

They are sort of show stoppers themselves, but they seemed to be working with the print and the overall mood of the outfit...

Lately I'm pulled in two totally different directions: one is more minimalist, makes me to go for T-shirts and jeans, undertones and clean cuts... The other one loves ruffles, flowers, everything pattern and textured (the more the merrier)... And I don't know to which part to succumb each time I'm getting dressed (I know every girl has this problem but the intensity of this inner conflict is really confusing me)... 

Anyway, even though it is confusing I do love to have those kind of shifts, because it makes fashion and dressing much more interesting and challenging... Just when you think you had your whole wardrobe figured out... Something else comes up: new aesthetic, new blogger, new city and makes you reconsider your whole approach towards clothes...

A little bit of edge

After browsing my blog, I realized that it hardly showed my edgier side, and mostly I choose to go for soft and romantic... Which is totally OK but doesn't really reflect the way I dress in real life as a whole. I do of course wear dresses, flowered skirts etc, but also I love studs, I have plenty of black clothes and I even own leather jacket (three actually) :)

So when I decided to make a post with my new Balenciaga shoes, I wanted go for an edgier version (far from being really edgy, which unfortunately I will never pull off). Hence, the leather, even though it was way too hot for leather, I loved the contrast between the lighting and the outfit... And I had lots of fun with the halter (that's why there are so many pictures in this post), probably will use it again is other posts!

The shirt was made by me, skirt is vintage from "Stella" boutique, vest: "Bezalel" market, belt: Castro, shoes: Balenciaga.

This outfit aside, I have another topic I wanted to discuss... While lusting after amazing vintage sequined dress, I couldn't quite justify buying it...It is amazing! So right for everything that is going on in fashion right now, it's simply not practical for where I live and I doubt I will have the courage to actually go out wearing it, at least here in Israel...

Have no doubts, I did buy it! But this subject is a bit sensitive since my closet contains plenty of clothes I enjoy owning and collecting (I plan to be a serious vintage collector when I'll grow up:))) but wore only once or twice (some are still waiting)... And I still wouldn't sell them even for twice the money I paid for it! Should I think about it as "Fashion is Art" thing, or maybe it's just simply very unpractical of me?

Working days 3

Israel is celebrating 61 years to it's existence which is of course wonderful. I love Independence day celebrations: the fireworks, barbeques and the general mood of this day...but sadly, when everyone will rest after the barbeque tomorrow, I will have to go to work ...

So I'm on with my "working days" routine for now :)
My vintage blouse and sweater arrived and they are a treat, I'm really glad to have them! Now I'm waiting for my dress...

Back to the outfit...I don't know what made me choose this dark outfit when it's so lovely and sunny outside, but the bright royal blue vintage Lanvin bag cheers it up a bit...





The shirt is my brother's by the way (from many many years ago).

So much to do So little time

You know how sometimes you have so many things on your "to do" list but instead you focus on other things?
Like when I was in college I would do anything, and i mean anything instead of studying for the tests. When I know I should post some updates on the internet, I decide to spend some time with my friends, and the list goes on.
Right now is the same, only this time I have to gather some documents for my student visa application and learn Italian, but instead I spend ridiculous amount of time online...Is it me or is it like that with everyone?

But enough about that, back the clothes! The dress/tunic is from Zara and it's really amazing, but oh so sheer! I wore it to a wedding and had a small wardrobe malfunction: the beads started to fall like crazy, until I found the torn thread and tied it...

The sandals are from Zara also and they were on sale this winter, last pair, my size!

Love finding stuff like that :)

I love my boyfriend's balcony, but I really have to change the setting (we'll do that when he'll get back in two weeks)! Besides, it's impossible to take pictures without Becky (the dog), she has to be in the center of attention!:)

There will be a lack (or less I don't know yet, if my friends will agree to take pictures) of outfit posts, until my wonderful photographer will get back, with an upgraded camera!

Hope I will manage something, otherwise, I'll have to be really creative:)

Desperate housewife

I always loved the 50's. Maybe it has something to do with this book my grandma had when I was little . It was a house keeping book and it had every tip and advice a housewife could possibly need: form vanishing spots on the furniture to sewing the perfect dress. Actually dresses had a place of honor in this book- it contained patterns, technical drawings and also a drawing of the dresses...My favorite occupation was coloring the dresses (the book was really old, so everything black and white). I still don't know what happened to it, I guess it didn't make it to Israel.

Anyway, I have a huge weakness for the 50's silhouette and the whole "new look" vibe. (Dior!)
So when I saw this dress last year at the store, I had to have it. I wear it really simple usually, with flats or even sandals to make the whole look of it more breezy and casual. But it has hidden potential of becoming the most typical 50's dress. I wish I had a crinoline to put under the skirt to "pump it up", but I don't!

This time I decided to dress up myself and to dress up Becky, for a little fun photoshoot, inspired by the 50's!:)

The problem of this dress is that it has fit issues on the front (it's not me, it's the dress!:)), and I wonder if I should fix it or leave it as it is?

Now I'm on the hunt for a real dress from that era, today will be all about wandering around Ebay and Etsy in a quest to find one.

Beautiful day

Well, the hardest part is behind...I have a weekend off thanks to my manager but sadly, as always I got ill, and as I sit here with my laptop, my nose running and all that, I'm going through the pictures my friend Yulia and I took this Thursday, while we went to Jaffa to find hummus (which we didn't by the way, because we went the opposite direction), anyway it was such a great setting, I just couldn't let the opportunity to take some pics for the blog pass...

Jaffa has so many beautiful spots and little hidden corners that are just magical. And although I also live in a town with quite a history, there isn't much left of it, and most of the buildings are new...

This dress is from Topshop, and while it seemed plain on the hanger , it has so much hidden opportunities and most importantly a big opening on the back which is perfect for ventilation in the summer...the boots are the one of my greatest finds: they cost 50 shekels on sale in Zara last year and i can't take them off this week...

P.S I feel like myself again with my new/old hair! and I wanted to thank Yulia for the wonderful photos!
What should one order from NY? I mean besides the obvious Sephora/ VS stuff?

Gold digger

I'm really sorry I don't get to show my really crazy/great outfits, but only ones I work in...Hopefully one day I will finaly take normal pictures/ make time for it...
I was being really lazy today, lying in my bed and browsing through blogs. It really sucks that I have to leave for work...

I usually wear this dress in summer with light sandals, but it bothered me that it's just hanging there in the closet...

I was just playing with this russian Vogue march issue...It's funny but lately I find even Russian vogue better then the American...they really do need to change. But the Russian vogue is getting better with every issue...

P.S : I still can't figure how to make pictures the same size...it's really frustrating...
