Why so serious?

Ever since I saw Chloe fall winter collections along with Prada, I fell in love with this preppy look and the knit on knit combination.

Knowing that I have the needed components in my wardrobe already (I of course wouldn't mind the Chloe set, but you gotta work with what you have...) I decided to give this look a try. I wish the sweater was a bit less bulky, so it doesn't rise above the belt, but I can live with it. 

The look is very sober, and probably a bit mature and grown up, but these are the kind of looks I like this winter. I have yet to wear this combination outside. I simply forgot when I was in NY, and now it seems kind of inappropriate here in Israel. So it will have to wait until my next trip abroad...

Getting used to be back here is a bit tough, and being sick in bed for a week while we try to move to our new apartment in Tel Aviv and look for a new job doesn't help :) But I'm optimistic and sure things will work out just the way they should. Who knows, we might even adopt a kitten by the end of the month :)

I've been after a sparkly nail polish for a while and have yet to find the perfect one, but yesterday I snapped and decided to buy the cheapest there is just to see if it fits me...well I kind of like it and it cheers me up when I look down on my nails! But I don't think you can see in the picture just HOW sparkly the nail polish is!

That 70's look...

So writing scheduled post is pretty weird...I have very little idea where I will be when this post is published but I'm sure I will be taking lots of pictures!

I have never been to Thailand and never got to go to the "I just finished the army I want to forget about the world for half a year" trip, because I started my degree straight away. So I'm pretty excited about this trip and hope Thailand will be everything people told me about and more.

Hopefully I will get the chance to update the blog from there even though I'm not taking the laptop.

So this outfit was inspired by this post by the Sartorialist. I have these jeans for a while now. They're not as loose as they used to be but I still like them. My boyfriend and his guy friends however, told me that it's a really bad idea and rejected the beloved Sartorialist image as well...Another man repeller?

  Well, if you read my blog for a while you probably know it's not the first time (and not the last) the boyfriend and I have such a different views on fashion...We agree to disagree :)

Wandering around the cemetery

There is so much to explore in Milan. And one of the most known places is the cemetery, which looks like a small city actually. Full of old graves with dramatical scenes and characters carved from the stones, it is impressive and fascinating place.

And very beautiful....

So I had to take pictures...:)

But our trip didn't end here...We decided to go to the Corso Como 10, mostly because I wanted to introduce this place to my boyfriend. Corso Como 10, is one of the most known shopping places in Milan, packed with designer clothing and books about art and fashion, it is every fashionista's destination...








But on our way there, we found even more precious gem: Corso Como 10 outlet...from the yard entrance you could see dozens of designers shoes...And I still can't explain why I didn't take those Marni wedges home...for mere 70 euros... I mean Zara carries shoes at those prices!!!

Anyway, the outlet was packed with many many goods and I am sure I will go back to check it more closely, because well...my boy has zero tolerance for designer shopping (especially outlet shopping), so we left...

Eventually I did buy something at Corso Como 10: a book about Chanel and her Atelier...so I didn't left empty handed...:)












So this has been my day so far...we're planning to go out to dinner tonight: somewhere nice, and tomorrow, we'll be wandering around somewhere else... :)

Today's outfit...

Today I wanted to wear something simple (I get that a lot lately) with no prints or texture...And generally I'm more of a texture/color kind of girl...I guess we all have our phases..:)

I'm wearing a vintage YSL Rive Gauche dress I bought in vintage boutique, Zara cardigan And boots...Originally I wore the outfit with my Chloe shoes but then it got cold and I switched to boots...

Today we had really interesting lesson at school about fashion media. Our lector was a successful fashion journalist that told us about how things work in Israeli fashion "world"...but I guess it's like that everywhere...the articles written under the threats of the advertisers etc'...It's not really surprising (and I knew it before) but for me it takes the fun out of fashion. I know it's a business and people make a living of it (I don't, so I don't think about it so much), but I feel that maybe we're missing out the many great designers while seeing the same names over and over in fashion magazines...

Can't stop...

Now it's official. I'm a shopaholic. Despite all the promises I made to myself, I just can't help myself when I'm in shops...

This time, I went to my favorite vintage shop, "Stella", to help the owner of the boutique to authenticate a Hermes bag she received from someone...After doing my homework for a whole weekend, I came to examine the bag. I have to mention that It's very hard to know what's fake If you never saw the real deal. But since it's kind of my hobby to tell what's real and what's fake (Especially on Ebay), I was ready to take the challenge. When I saw the bag, it wasn't that hard to tell that it's fake. Very well made, but fake...I asked myself, what a 6000$ or more bag should look like, and this bag didn't match my criteria, in terms of stitching and details...

Anyway, just to be sure I sent the pictures of the bag to the experts on The Purse Forum, and they proved me right...

Since I was already in the shop, I did a quick round and found a true treasures: a silk cardigan, very similar to those Thakoon showed on his runway for spring 2009...I just couldn't leave it there...And then...I found the most perfect vintage piece I've ever seen...It was a whole YSL outfit: a vest, a blouse and a skirt. The skirt and the vest are knitted and the blouse matches the color...very "school teacher" and very me...I just couldn't let it get away, and since I kind of already spent too much this month, I asked to put it aside for me, for a couple of weeks (Thank goodness the owner is very very nice)...I just can't wait to get my hands on it and to wear it...I'll post photos as soon as I buy it...
