My favorite kind of pink...

Actually this kind of pink is not my favorite but...I'm addicted to it this summer (yes I'm easy when it comes to trends :) )

Pink and blue

These days fashion is not on my mind, because my boy is back, though only for a week and then he takes off again...so between the work and going out and spending time with the boyfriend (and also having one of the worst hangovers ever!) I had a little time to take pictures...
I'm into the whole "light and airy" mood lately so this sheer blouse and the perfect light pink skirt (thank you Ira!) are doing the work for me...

I just couldn't resist pairing the outfit with my Bottega Veneta! I have to say that they are the most comfortable shoes ever, but I love them so much that I rarely take them out: afraid of wearing them out too soon or damaging them. I know it's silly!

Also, I bought 2 pieces that I was looking for a long time ago and where? Honigman (Israeli fashion label) of all places! My mom usually shops there and they do have some nice clothes and cuts, but I couldn't imagine I would find the perfect jumper and the perfect cropped pants there! This only teaches me once again to be open minded about my shopping spots:)

Pink craze...

Since my main obsession for this summer right now is pink (well, actually blush but never mind), I decided to search my closet for some forgotten pieces that will fit into my pink mood...
And of course I found some. I do have one blush blouse I found in Zara last summer and a skirt I received from my boyfriend's sister, but I'm still dreaming of that Zara dress...and the shoes...
To comfort me I found some clothes that go with my pink mood...until I get my wishes :)

The skirt is made from my mother's old dress. I absolutely love the print on this and will keep it forever...The dress is one of the few she took with her to Israel. It is such a shame my mother left all of her clothes when we came here. I remember her 70's chiffon dresses, her wedding gown, beautiful skirts and shoes to die for, all of which went to the dumpster because we were restricted in weight...

Pretty in Pink

I know it’s too soon to make predictions for spring 2009, but it’s really hard to ignore the sea of pink that flooded the New York’s fashion week runways. Since I'm obsessing over NY fashion week, it's hard not to make such observations. There was every kind of pink there is: fuchsia, blush, coral, bubble gum…You name it, they’ve got it…

My main association with pink, just as for most people is a Barbie doll. Cheesy and cheap color that is appropriate only for the Paris Hiltons of our world. But then you think of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and her pink gorgeous gown…and you understand that in the right hands, pink can be very glamorous and elegant.

I think that most of the designers managed to pull of the “pretty in pink” look this time. Just look at the pink orange combo at Alexander Wang’s show. Also I loved the peony pink dress we saw at Koi Suwannagate. Even Mark Jacobs who showed not so spring- like color palette, found a place for two or three pink garments…Some chose to ignore the “fashion rules” and showed their pink with black, and it turned out great. Charles Nolan chose ladylike pink in satin, and worked it onto pink-orange jacket and skirt. Adam went for very bright fuchsia little dresses that I’m sure will become a favorite for the young Hollywood starlets. Three as Four and DKNY chose coral pink and both made gorgeous draped dresses out of it…Actually, it was really hard to find designers who didn't show pink on their runways, and you can count them with one hand…

The good thing for those of us, who are not entirely sold on this pink hype, is that there is a variety. You may hate fuchsia but you can find yourself falling in love with pale baby pink that look almost white…or a regal coral pink or a cute blush …

I personally love the coral pink and the "make up colors", and hope to find some high street clothes in these colors...Pinks will be great with gray ( see Piksi wearing a great combo here) or beige or I just might go crazy and pair them with some brights as Alexander Wang did... Since I still have a month or two until it gets colder here, I 'm hoping to add some pink to my wardrobe very soon...
