End of school

I didn't post anything for what feels like ages!

The last month of school was very hectic, with many projects and worries and chores, leaving very little time for everything else. Countless presentations, some of them very important with outside companies, so the pressure was high.

Yesterday was the last day, all the projects are done and basically I have about a month to enjoy Italy and Milan and lots of spare time. I plan to wander around the streets, taking lots of pictures and visit all the places I liked once again as well as those I didn't get a chance to visit yet. I also plan a short trip to Firenze and maybe lake Como, so this month is going to be very exciting!

During the eight months I spent here, I really fell in love with Milan. I know that it is not the most beautiful city in Italy but Milan is full of hidden surprises. In order to fully explore the city you need at least two years, and even then there is so much more to discover. All the exciting things are not floating on the surface, this is why it might be hard to enjoy the city in the most obvious way, but I feel like I got a small glimpse of what it has to offer.

So since I don't have a proper outfit pictures, Im posting some of the pictures from the last week of school, the presentations and my wonderful classmates.

Same jacket, different day...

Keeping with the light colors, i wanted to create a strange combination, still in a very subtile and gentle way...So pink and orange were the prefect candidates for this mission.
I chose a longer basic skirt to complement pink and orange and added a basic wooden pump I found at Zara on sale ages ago. Besides the Chloe top, everything else, is actually Zara, from previous seasons.

I suspect this outfit not everyone's cup of tea, but part of the blog and it's purpose for me is to hold these kind of experimentations in order to see if an outfit works or not. Maybe I will rework it with a different, and in summer, the jacket will have to go, but the main thing: the color combination is something that I will definitely want to keep wearing.

Meanwhile Milan is coming out of a rainy period, with more sun but also wind...I really wish it was a bit warmer, because I am tired of covering and wearing everything with tights. I don't really like ow colorful tights look on me and always stick to the basic black so it's becoming quite a task to wear lighter clothes, because black tights immediately ruin the lightness and airiness of the look.

Besides, as I mentioned on my website, it is sample sales period, which can be quite hard, as by the end of this period (of studying and not working) I can't enjoy those sales, and they are really worthy. But I keep reminding myself that there will be other sales, every season, so it is not a lost cause :)

Have a great day! Kisses!

Home sweet home

My short but sweet visit home is over. I am back to Milan, feeling refreshed and reinforced and ready to face the upcoming tests!

Going home after 6 months was a strange but good experience, filled with mom's food, friends and family, and just hanging out spending time with each other. Of course I didn't want to leave!

I had time to take pictures for the blog and to browse through the summer wardrobe. Fortunately the weather was on my side and I enjoyed warm days and didn't even need a jacket!

Now I am back in Milan, ready for the summer with stacks of dresses, skirts, sandals that I brought instead of the winter clothes...

I feel like I am going to be hooked on beiges, browns neutral colors and earth tones this summer
( like everybody else) because I had a black overdose this winter. I also feel like this summer I really want to embrace long floaty skirts, just because they are so comfortable and easy to wear...just like this one!

This outfit was everything I wanted to wear during my holiday, the colors, the shapes and the wedges felt very easy and uncompromising. The skirt and the top are from Zara previous seasons. The beading on the top is unraveling but I kind of prefer it that way, not perfect :)

The wedges were bought about 5 years ago, and feel right again. Unfortunately I had to leave them in Israel, as I had too little space in my suitcase...

Hope everyone had great holidays!

Roof Top

So I finally visited the roof top of the Duomo, something that every tourist does on a brief visit, I remembered to do 6 months after my arrival. This is really a must for everyone visiting Milan, the view is amazing and the ornaments and details of this breathtaking building can be appreciated from close.

The weather is getting warmer, and the nicer it gets outside, the less I want to stay at home. Also, the gelateria which is basically downstairs is reopened for spring and it is a dangerous dangerous place!

After all the pizzas and sandwiches, I really need to get back in shape for the summer, and buying ice cream every day doesn't help at all, but it is sooo good:)
I am on a never ending quest to find a perfect pair of beige wide "boyfriend" cuffed style pants. Zara is filled with them, but not even one pair looks good on me...I'm thinking vintage or DIY from an actual men's pants? I don't know, but I will keep looking...

No special outfit in these pictures, unfortunately I am still looking for a photographer until my boy will be back...until then I am a bit of a photographer myself, as I tried to get all creative with the Duomo pictures :)

And a big thank you to my friend Elena who took my photos this time :)

I miss summer

I know that only few can relate to this feeling as right now it is very hot in Israel, but I finally miss summer. I never thought I would say this, but here I am...

Living in such a warm country, I had fewer chic winter jackets and coats to begin with, instead I have an army of light blazers and parkas that did a good job. Here, in Milan I find it hard to look chic and stay warm, because it takes time and money to build a strong winter garderobe. So, bored with my entire winter arsenal, I want the summer (or at least spring) to come as soon as possible.

I dream of wearing dresses and sandals, layering them with summer jackets and knits...I do not, however dream of exhausting heat that paralyzes your whole to the point you don't even bother to move or dress up...Yes, I am very hard to please :)

And I still didn't have time to get updates on NY fashion week! I am usually a very precise follower who knows when and who shows, but this year, of all years when I am finally a fashion student I don't have a clue what's going on. So after I finish this post, it is straight to style.com and WWD.com to get updates!!!

This outfit is hardly new, the only new piece being the shirt I bought in H&M for 5 euro and the necklace for 8 euro in our local Chinatown. The rest are loved and well worn pieces (all from Zara) that help me out anytime I have nothing to wear. Of course I couldn't think about going out like that, as it is too cold and warm coat is required...This is my working/studying outfit when I need to be serious but still fashionable...
And a big thanks to my lovely photographer who gathered the strengh to get out of bed to take pictures, and of course didn't miss the chance to capture himself!

On a sadder note, my dear dog, Tobi, who was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago, passed away a week ago and I can't even bear a thought of coming home and not seeing him again...I just hope he had a great life with us and is now in a good place, wherever that is...

Butterfly sisterhood

The heat is here! The jackets need to be stacked in the back...

Photobucket

I won't need them until the big move
(wich is closer and closer and I have done nothing yet!) It's weird to think that the next time I will wear my boots and coats, it will be in Milan...Which brings the next question: How the heck am I supposed to bring my entire wardrobe including tens of pairs of shoes (after serious editing that is) in one tiny 20 kilo suitcase?

This is the only thing that bothers me right now, more than anything else...Leave the apartment, the bills, the furniture, the food, visa, insurance...who needs them? I need my clothes!!!

Photobucket

On that note, I am now enjoying summer (for now) and the sunshine...It's not painfully hot right now, just really nice and sunny...
I have yet to visit the beach, but I'm planning to do so tomorrow...:)

Photobucket

This light and sunny dress is a gift from Cala (they have really great girly and sweet dresses there) I received last week at their new collection presentation. Thank you Adi and Noa! I got the white version, while Dar got the black...you can see hers here!

Photobucket

While it can be dressed up or down, I decided to take it to the "middle ground" by playing with the most "summery" accessory there is: a straw fedora...:)

Pile on some colorful bangles, nude platforms and a bright handbag...and I'm ready to enjoy the sun!:)
