The hair tales

If you read my blog from the beginning you probably noticed that I have issues with my hair. Unfortunately this doesn't mean that it is always perfect, it is exactly the opposite.

If not given the proper attention, it looks quite bad, tired and undecided: is it wavy, is it straight, does it have volume or is it flat? My hair has a life of its' own and only on rare occasions it looks good natural. These occasions usually occur when I go to sleep with my hair wet and wake up to find free and wild curls, giving me that effortless but chic look. But this happens very rarely. Usually I have no other choice but to blow dry it. And when I do it myself, it never looks good enough! So my next step is to get angry and just tie it in a bun...

My hair: the way it should be... back in Israel

Why I suddenly decided to write about hair? Well, there are 2 reasons: first is because my photographer is still absent, and the second one, well, you probably guessed it, I am so frustrated with my hair right now...

My savior was my good friend and hairdresser whom I visited quite religiously once a month. In Italy I went to a hair salon only one time, but the experience scared me so much, I rather put my hair in a bun...which I usually do!

What happened was that they got it all wrong: the easiest dark chocolate became a burgundy on my roots, the blow dry fell apart after only half an hour...And don't even get me started on the haircut! And I paid for it twice more than I would pay in Israel...

I miss the good hair days!!!

This tragic event led me to a very brave decision to let my boyfriend dye my hair with the simple hair color kit. Poor thing, he couldn't believe I would actually make him do it. There was some screaming, some hair pulling a stained forehead, but I have to tell you: he did well. We picked the right color, there were no obvious spots and my roots were the same color as the rest of my hair! Mission accomplished! Unfortunately we didn't take pictures, but I can assure you it looks much better than after the hair salon!

Now I need to convince him to cut my bangs and learn how to blow dry :)

Bright Spots

Lately I had many things which prevented me from blogging: some of them good, some of them bad. But I have to admit that it's not the lack of time, but the lack of will and I hope this faze will eventually pass...

On a good side, Dar was visiting me here, we spent a great weekend, enjoying Milan as much as possible. Let's just say that there is still soooo much for me to learn about the city, and we couldn't find a better guide (and company in general) than my friend Keren. You can read Dar's full review here, but I just have to thank Keren and Dar for such a wonderful weekend, after a very rough week.

Men's fashion week went by unnoticed with the exeption of the "Punks wear Prada" party Keren took us to...mainly because of many tests and projects that I have...I was more occupied by Break Even Point (accounting), silk reeling (textiles) and psychographic profile (marketing). In general lately it's much less about the clothes (which I know well) and much more about the logistics and math (which I unfortunately don't know that well)...
The "Punks wear Prada" party which I've mentioned before had some very interesting and glamorous people and in general had the "fashion crowd" including flamboyant DJ and hosts. And while it was fun to be there for a couple of hours (and maybe revisit it once in a while) I realized that it's not really my "cup of tea". I would rather enjoy a drink in a pub with some closest friends.

One of the things that cheer me up in this gloomy and grey weather is this pink scarf. My grandfather (whom I didn't get to meet) gave it to my mother when she was a young girl. It has holes and my mom doesn't understand why I love it so much...Well, besides the immidiate "wow" effect it brings to any outfit, it is one of a few things that my mom took with her to Israel and has survived the 'big move"...

In this case, I paired it with black and white outfit, adding a pop of color, but the scarf works great with many color combinations, giving a special vibe to any outfit...

So while there is not much sun lateley, there are quite a few bright spots which I am very thankful for :)

Have a great weekend, kisses!!!

Long Absence

I'm sorry for my long absence from the blog, sometimes it's just so good to disconnect yourself from the virtual life and the social networks and enjoy some quality time with your real life friends and family.

We rented this wonderful villa near the lakes, with old furniture and antique china and silver...This was a great place to just sit together near the fireplace (a first for me) drinking (and lots of it) talking and just relaxing...It also reminded me that although I'm enjoy living in Italy, I do miss my friends and family, so I'm planning to make a short visit in April...

Anyway, my only photographer is back in Israel right now for at least one month, so I don't have any new photos and probably will struggle a bit in the next few weeks as well, but I have these photos which were taken before the holidays and didn't have a chance to post...

Mens' fashion week is just around the corner (I started to spot male models on the streets, you just notice them)and the fashion month is following, so I'm quite excited and hope to take some pictures to compensate the lack of mine...

The cardigan/dress is H&M and the booties are Mango (I since ruined them, the bag Max Mara...
