Oh my!

I'm in New York and I managed to squeeze some time to do a proper post. Not that time is the problem, the problem is the internet, which is painfully slow...

Some updates: my shopping budget was thrown out of the widndow, when I decided to make myself another birthday gift at Sacks Fifth avenue and Century 21...And I managed to do all my shopping in three days!!! I say it's a good thing since now I will concentrate on museums, exhibitions, different areas I didn't discover yet etc...but I seriously hurt my bank account and I'm sure my mom will be calling me in the next few days to ask me if I have gone mad...I think I did!!! Well, it's New York and what can a girl do?

Designer goods here are soo cheap (relativley of course) ! So I bought seven (Yes, 7) pairs of shoes and also a beautiful jacket from Rick Owens (not leather, I didn't win the lottery yet, mine cost 150$), a skirt from Missoni, Adam dress, Chloe blouse, bunch of stuff from H&M, Anthropology, VS, Sephora etc...

Photobucket

The main reason why I did all my shopping so fast is because for the first part of my stay I'm alone...my boyfriend is sooo busy working that I only see him at nights, so I'm discovering the city by myself...there's always stuff to do or to see though...I'm not bored! The only real downside: I can't photograph myself...but We will make up for it in a next few days when he'll finish his project...

Photobucket

Just a sneak peak of what is lying on our hotel table...I just love the colors of M&M's :)

Tomorrow: Central Park and Soho/Nolita...and then we'll see:)

P.S: Have you noticed my latest shoe color obsession?

What I'm wearing to my endless flight

Traveling clothes are always hard...They have to be super comfortable, but then you don't want to look like a total slop...so I had really hard time figuring out what to wear...

Photobucket

Finally I found my inspiration through Garance and her love for Isabel Marant grey pants...She has the designer ones but also made a DIY version of this...so this is my take on this comfy and wonderful idea :)

The t-shirt is super comfy and the only thing I will have to let go are the heels, but they will come with me in my handbag (not that pair, their heel is wobbly, I need to fix it) , so I can leave the airport a bit upgraded...during the flight my loyal friends will be my old but still good Steve Madden black flats...

Photobucket

Well, got to get back to packing, I hope I will be able to update during my vacation!

P.S: The jacket and the tshirt are from Zara, pants from Swear, shoes are a sample from Castro, necklace: Honigman.

Kisses!

Packing...I'm really bad at it !

Well, my flight is tomorrow night, so naturally last couple of days were all about what am I going to take with me...
I don't travel that much (actually I was abroad twice and that's it), so packing is not something I'm good at: I don't know what I'm going to need or might regret I didn't take with me...One garment after another, I ended up piling stuff only to come to conclusion that I need to edit!

Photobucket

It seems like my main "thing" is going to be "florals" and all shades of neutrals...gray, beige etc...but it's still too much clothes for one person. And I will probably end up buying enough stuff to fill another suitcase...

Anyway, this is how it looks right now...I hope I will get it all organized and figured out and promise an outfit post tomorrow! :)

Good night!

My vintage dress...

You already saw this dress, when I first told you I bought it on Ebay...it took me so much time to send it to the dry cleaning...almost a month! Talk about leaving stuff to do for tomorrow...:)

Photobucket

Well, now I can enjoy it, in all it's light see-through cotton glory :)
When it comes to 50's dresaes I can't help feeling like I'm dressing up and cute accessories are always a great addition.

This time my accessory was a bucket full of roses my mom picked me from our garden :) Not only they are pretty and delicate, they also smell amazing!!!

On a different note, today the first episode of Israeli Project Runway was aired... I already saw the episode when I went to the premiere with Dar and Ofer, and as I figured out later, sat on the same row with all the contestants :))) It was quite an interesting experience...

I have to say that I did have quite low expectations since I really loved the American version...But the show was very funny and all the contestants are very interesting "characters"...The whole production is amazing and they knew how to catch the nuances that will make it work...I really enjoyed watching the show and looking forward for the next episode, hoping it will get even better...:)

Oh and of course I have to mention that the judge Vivi Balaish is a fellow Ashkeloni and his remarks were very refined...so it makes me proud:) and Shiraz Tal is truly a gorgeous woman :)

P.S. the shoes are from Zara, bought on sale last year for 100 shekels :)

That's all

Kisses! :)

Some conclusions and updates

Lately I've been thinking a lot about my wardrobe and the whole "more is less" concept...I'm quite divided on this topic, since one part of me is really likes the logic behind having a small selection of great pieces and basics...But then, the other part loves to shop, loves to wear new dresses and loves to have a broad selection of clothing in every color and style...

Photobucket

Since I might go to NY in a next couple of weeks (nothing is certain yet) I started to think: do I really want to come back with my suitcase full of H&M/Forever21/ Topshop stuff or maybe I could smarten up and look for really great sample sales, buy that one amazing pair of shoes or that good quality handbag I need since my Chloe seriously needs a rest...

I guess I will have to find my balance and get a bit of both...

Photobucket

So this is the Phillip Lim blouse I ordered from TheOutnet.com...Such a great piece, light and with very interesting details...

Photobucket

Not being a big fan of pants, I found this pair in Zara, but I still have doubts about the fit...sometimes I think it works, and sometimes I don't...Anyway, this is the closest I got to Harem pants :)

With all the lightness of both garments it was still too hot to wear them, and the blouse will have to wait for colder days to come...

Photobucket

I spent the whole week worrying about the NY trip: will I or won't I and if I will then when? Will my boss allow me to go a bit longer or will I have to go just for one week? So many stuff to think about, but at the end it will be worth it because I will get to see my boyfriend whom I didn't see properly in two and a half months! :)

Photobucket

The shoes are from Topshop and the bag is vintage...

Meanwhile I would love to receive tips and info about where to go, what to see, where to shop, if you know some special secret fashion spots, please let me know!

Have a great week everyone!

Tashkent and a broken necklace

First of all, let me introduce you to my new shoes: these babies came in the mail couple of days ago, and they couldn't be better.
I wrote about this label on my Hebrew website about a year ago and was really impressed with their designs. So when the opportunity came to purchase a pair from Ebay for fraction of the price, I jumped on it...

The leather, the design the crazy heels are everything I need in a shoe and more...
Because the shoes are so rough, I decided to pair it with quite a romantic and girly clothes and a straw hat (I think I'm developing a new "thing" here with hats)...

Photobucket

Actually this outfit combines my latest favorite clothes and accessories: The dress is from Zara and I'm in love with the color and the light fabric...perfect for summer days...The hat was found on one of the markets (Shuk ha Carmel), the necklace is a gift my mom received from my uncle, and I "borrowed" the necklace for good :)

Photobucket

Unfortunately it's string got torn and all the beads scattered on the street...it took me about half an hour to pick them with some help of neighborhood kids...but I'm glad I found all the beads and just have to take it to the jeweler to put it back together...

I had such a long day today (but fun) and another long day (less fun) ahead...so I leave you with a close up of the shoes...

Photobucket

So good night! Have a wonderful day tomorrow!
Kisses!

Dresses and flowers...

Some days, when I rush to work...especially when it's hot and sticky outside (and the air conditioner at work is broken), the only thing I can imagine wearing is a long breezy dress...

Photobucket

This in particular has caught me with the bright print and the lovely chiffon fabric (I'm a sucker for everything chiffon)...

Not being a huge fan of big cleavages I piled on a bunch of wooden necklaces my mom bought me while she was in Siberia, to add some contrast to the dress...

Photobucket

On a different note: right now I'm toying with an opportunity to go to New York for one week to see my boyfriend, but I'm not really sure how it's going to work out...

Photobucket

I never been to US and New York is one of my "must" destinations, but the timing couldn't be worse...with my graduation and birthday on the way (Not to mention Italy), I'm not sure how I can pull this off...but I surely hope this trip will happen!!!

Have a great weekend!

Yellow skirt

After the pastel colors and light garments, I just had to wear something darker, with textures and contrasts...so here's a mixture of sequins, jeans, jersey and silk :))

Photobucket

I had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine not a long time ago about personal style...I always admired people who have a cohesive and very personal style, which you can always recognize...Girls like Rumi or Alix or Gala have such a wonderful approach to clothes, though each one is different and unique...Even when they experiment and push the boundaries they remain true to their style...

Photobucket

I always find that very hard to stick to one style. One day I love florals: sometimes tiny delicate prints, sometimes big and loud prints. The next day I'm more in rough studded stuff and leather. Then I go completely girly and choose to wear pastels. And after that I feel like wearing a plain white tee with a basic black skirt...

Photobucket

It is really hard for me to choose a color pallet, because there are too many colors that I love and generally so many directions that are tempting me and I can't just stick to one...

Photobucket

But I guess that is also ok, since fashion is all about fun and trying and making it work for you...Unlike my hair, that really doesn't want to cooperate these days :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

I just have to add that I'm in love with my new shoes from Mango! They exist in metallic version (besides black and white) and I only hope that they will still have it stocked in the store during the sales...because buying two pairs of shoes for full price is too much...(since it's not the only pair I bought this month, more on that in further posts)... Comfy and really versatile, I think they will be one of my favorite pairs this summer :)

Photobucket

Off to bed now!
Have a great week :)
