A Tree!

Since I was a little kid, I always loved Christmas trees. In Russia they are actually a "New Year" trees but never mind...It was so magical and full of surprises: the lights, the gifts and anticipation for the New Years Eve are part of my best childhood memories...Anyway after three years of not putting a tree, I decided to do so...and it's perfect and most importantly, it lifts my spirit every time I see it...

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year to everyone!

Mixing Colors

Although I usually think of myself as a more of a black-white- grey kind of girl, I do love color and like to experiment with it...

Now, when Holidays are approaching (New Year especially) I seek for the brighter, happier colors...so black white and grey will have to rest for a while...
It was a very cold evening and I had three more layers underneath, so the jacket looks a bit off, but I was very cold...

Grown up dressing

On my way to a wedding (really late, waiting for the boyfriend). I have to tell that in our case I'm the one who's always ready on time and he's the one that is always late (just had to rant:))

I guess it's the Russian in me, always attracted to more "grown up" structured pieces. I love items that are almost too mature for my age and make me look older. This dress from Zara is one of these items, but I love it anyway. I bought it on sale for 120 Shekels (a fracture of it's original price) in Eilat two years ago, and this is the first time I'm wearing it. The second picture is quite bad (with my eyes rolled), but it shows the structure and the tailoring of the dress beautifully...

New closet

Since I already made a post on my Hebrew website (which is currently running slow because of technical issues) about my closet a while ago, this is the only place I can get all excited about my new and improved closet!

I finally got my shoe shelves and lots of hanging space for my dresses...and I couldn't be any happier about it!!! I hope it will help me to appreciate what I already have and to make a full use of my wardrobe...

And already I got some new wonderful additions to the closet! I will show them tomorrow!

It's official!

Just recieved a press release from H&M which said that H&M is going to open it's first store in Israel in 2010! I can't be more thrilled...what a wonderfull news :)

Rainy and cozy

Well, it's finally raining outside and I'm about to go out for a coffee with a friend...Usually when it's cold, I tend to turn to cozy clothes. And for me this usuallymeans knits...

The (knitted) jacket is from Mango. I bought this a couple of years ago, and it's one of these things you buy and it serves you for ages. I love it...Have a good night!

Free of any academic duties!!!

I did it! Yesterday I presented my final project, with my group, and this was the last thing I had to do before I get my degree. This project forced me to put aside all other projects like my Hebrew website (hopefully I'll start updating tomorrow) and also all my other internet activities...
Actually we kind of sucked because we weren't prepared (speaking clearly ant straight to the point takes a lot of practice for most), and went into a complete shock when we saw about 800 people staring at us...and we got criticized a lot by the judges.

But it all doesn't matter because it's only a small part of the grade (the project itself we believe is good only the presentation sucked) and the most important, it's over!!!

Our project was a introducing Lush, which is a very cool fresh and handmade cosmetics company to the Israeli market and preparing a marketing and media campaign. You can find out more about Lush at their website.

I'm a very loyal customer and I make my friends bring me the products any chance I get. Here's a story board we came up with. The drawings are by my boyfriend's sister. I colored them with Panton's Promarkers...

What I bought

Yesterday I made a quick visit to Zara. The purpose was to buy a gift for a new born baby (which I did, I find their baby clothes adorable). But of course I couldn't leave without buying something for myself...

First I saw this beautiful cozy dress. The color is mocha (it appears grey on the picture), a belt that will go with all the bohemian trend, but also will be great for summer outfits regardless what trends are "in"...also I bought two pairs of stockings because they are all I wear at winter (I'm not a jeans person). Then, I remembered I saw this floral skirt at twenty for Seven, and I decided to get it, since I've been thinking about it for couple of months now...

My boyfriend is a bad photographer...

Actually he's not a bad photographer, he's just not a dedicated one. I was expecting him to join me on a mission and to document my outfits every single day. Instead he photographed me while he was lying on the bed watching TV...So I decided to do it myself. It's not that good picture with flash and everything, but otherwise there will be no outfit pictures in this blog...:)

This is me getting ready to work...I work at men's clothing store and since I discovered men's knits I can't get enough...

Today I did some unexpected shopping (guess where...), and I will give the full report about it tomorrow.

Feeling the pink (again)

It really sucks that we haven't seen a real winter yet...because I'm kind of over it fashion wise. Since July I was dreaming of chunky knits, high boots, scarves, jackets...and now, I think about summer trends again. Well that's how fashion works and I guess it's something that one should get used to.

But I think I found a nice solution...this cute raincoat is right on pink/blush summer trend. It brings color without being too colorful, and if everything goes as planned it will be mine in five days from now. It's still on Ebay, but I don't think I will be able to give it up...and will "fight" for it :) Wish me luck!!!

New Boots

I finally got my hands on this pair of boots I wanted for so long...They are kind of perfect and I wear them with everyting...

While at Zara, I couldn't just leave with one pair of shoes...no way...I saw a pair of booties, that I just couldn't let go of.

Reminiscent to YSL pair, they really compliment my legs because they have a wide opening. Turns out they are the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I ever owned. I wore them the same day to Nine West new collection launch, and I could barely stand in them...and it was inside the mall. Hope it will get better...

60's dress in action

Since my photographer (once again, lucky him) is on his work trip, the only outfit photos I have are of this sixties dress, that really reminds me of Missoni (the zig zags)...

I think I would be very happy to be able to dress like that every day...

P.S. My room is a mess so i had to photoshop the whole thing :)

I think I'm in love

I love everything Chloe...There is no doubt about it...I don't care whoever is the designer behind the collections, I love Chloe...
When Hanna McGibbon became the new designer for Chloe, I wasn't as happy as most of the fashion world, because I loved the collections that came before. But I also loved her spring summer 2009 collection.

When I saw this dress on Neiman Marcus website, I instantly knew it was love from the first sight.
The colors, the cut, everything about it is perfect...I only wish I had the extra 1890$ (after 40% discount).

Who doesn't like to recieve gifts?

I certainly love gifts, especially the kind of gifts that I would never get myself (I really suck when it comes to restraining myself and my shopping urges, so it's really hard to buy me gifts...). Usually my perfect gift would be a Zara gift card.

So it was a very big surprise when I received a gift from my cousin, who lives in Moscow, and loved everything about it!

I'm not a girly girl, but I do love pink in right shades and amounts. When I got the new Lanvin perfume (my new favorite) along with this cute hanger and album/frame for pictures, I was caught in a very girly mood. It went even further when my boyfriend's sister gave me a gorgeous pale apricot chiffon skirt...So now I'm in some sort of shabby chic mood and I love everything pale, washed out, green and pink...Appropriate outfit will follow...(maybe tomorrow)

If I had a better camera (still figuring out my boyfriend's new camera), this gift would be very Alix...:)

Anyway, this week is mixed with a lot of good news (fashion wise) and not so good news when it comes to my friends...I hope next week will be more balanced.

My last ebay/etsy experience

I'm not a frequent eBay buyer. Actually I rarely do online shopping, period. First of all many stores don't ship to Israel and second, the shipping price which makes the whole thing really not worth it (most of the times).

My first experience with eBay was very positive. I took a chance and bought a pair of Chloe shoes, from a seller with zero feedback...that's how bad I wanted theses shoes. But gladly the seller was very nice and I received the shoes quickly and in excellent state.

But about a month ago I won a vintage dress...very pretty dress from an vintage eBay store. It said that the dress is in excellent vintage condition. I buy vintage very often and i do know how a vintage items in excellent condition should look like. The dress wasn't in that condition. It has a very weird smell and couple of very visible stains on it...the kind that you cannot get out of the fabric. I still love it very much, but I was a little bit disappointed.

Couple of days later I ordered a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes from Etsy seller. Now these shoes came in very good condition...only I'm not sure if these are real Ferragamo shoes or a cheap knock off. And I tend to think that t is a knock off because the quality is not what expected at all.

The good thing that both items cost me about 50 $ so it's not a big deal, but it's still dissapointing...

But I'm determined not to give up...I still will be looking for bargains...:)

What I was wearing

This is an outfit I wore yesterday to a friend's wedding...I wasn't too dressed up because I'm still sick and actually felt even worse when I got home...

The dress is from Cala, jacket and shoes: Zara

My dog, Tobi is quite a poser and every time there's a camera, he shines :)

Just to update

Well, I wasn't feeling well lately, and I'm really behind on my posts here, on my Hebrew website, and what's more important, I didn't even started writing my 30 pages paper that I'm supposed to submit on next Friday. And my boyfriend returning from a month long work trip from Brazil didn't help either. So I didn't really take pictures of myself. But I did go shopping...initially I went to Zara to buy their special edition boots, but was really disappointed to hear that they were sold out. So I picked a jacket and a dress "instead" (pics in the next post).

And then I went to "Stella", where I go each time I'm in Tel Aviv. I absolutely love the selection and also the owner, Ayelet is very very nice. (Most of the stuff I bought the last six months is from there) This time I went with a purpose: I want to do an article about her trip to New York for an event they had there for all things vintage...So I took some pics of the clothes she brought and this particular jacket had to be modeled because otherwise you can't see the gorgeous cut it has. It's by Ungaro...The only problem I had with it were the shoulder pads, although the shoulders are cut to look a bit big...what do you say, should I get it if it's still there?

Don't ask me why I'm wearing my sunglasses...I don't really know:)

Boyfriend Jeans (or should I say brother's pants?)

I finally had the courage to wear such a popular trend outside...the reason for my fears? I live in a small city, and I was afraid that my outfit will receive too many comments for one person to handle...But when I saw my brother's checked pants just lying around, I couldn't resist...I paired them with white tank top and a black blazer to add a little bit more structure, although it looks great with just a cardigan too.

Since I work at men's clothing store, I was a little bit afraid of the reactions from guys, but I didn't get any comments or even weird looks...I guess I should appreciate my city more...:)
Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures. My "photographer" will be back this Saturday :)

Creative Crisis

Today I'm getting ready for my first photo shoot for the website (I take the role of the stylist)...It's very exiting, and although I have a little (very little) experience in styling , this time is somehow different. First of all, it will be public and second of all,I want it to be perfect. At first I thought about doing an editorial about fall trends....I went for Bohemian Chic and plaid and goth...but then I realized that the model and the setting aren't really working with the theme...

First attempt

So I came up with this "Urban Lolita/Starlet" concept, which will include lots of furs and sequins that I bought before. But I'm finding it so hard to stick to one subject...Somehow I always slip to the more "regal" look. I doubt each outfit I built, and even though I will pick some of the clothes tomorrow, I don't feel confident about it...I was really inspired by this editorial from Vogue UK:

Of course there will be more clothes and less underwear, and the color pallet is a little bit different...but this is more or less the character I was thinking about. I hope that eventually everything will work out...Wish me luck!
