Lighten up

The heat is so exhausting... seems like everyone I know is affected by it. And I know the weather is a really tired topic but really...these days my dressing habits are affected mainly by my need to stay as "light and airy" as possible. That means: no pants, no belts, no tight clothes, no heels...

Otherwise I just cannot function and thank god for air conditioning!!!

This outfit is breaking the "rules" I just mentioned, because the top is made of a quite thick fabric and it is tight...let's just say I will not wear it on a long day outside!!!

Besides weather issues I really need to start making things happen and getting ready for "the big move"...but with my tendency to put things aside and to wait for the last moment...I'm afraid I will find myself forgetting bunch of important things when I'll leave.

Hope I will get serious soon...:))

All dressed up (and nowhere to go)

Sometimes, when I feel kind of down or don't have the energy to go through the day, all it takes to cheer me up is to play a little "dress up"...a pretty dress like this sunny yellow dress from Zara can instantly recharge and take my energy levels to new heights...

This time I decided to take pictures and to add this cute headband to create this super girly and supper flirty look (a bit too dressed up for real life me, but great for dressing up at home:))) )

I also wanted to introduce you to my dog: Tobi. He's the only one who can instantly cheer me up and he is the sweetest and the most loving dog there is!

I actually never wore this dress out and still wait for the right occasion to come up...and it has been two years since I bought it. I plan to finally wear it next spring, dressed down with some edgy jacket or a simple grey cardigan and flats...

My favorite kind of flowers

I will never get enough of flower dresses, especially vintage ones... there is something about older designs that makes the dresses much more romantic and not as loud as the modern prints...

Like this vintage Ted Lapidus I bought about a year ago and still can't fall out of love with...Even though the colors are quite flashy, the flowers are big and the print is all over the dress, it manages to stay delicate and soft. So delicate in fact that I didn't even hesitate when I paired it with these crazy fringe heels...

They are sort of show stoppers themselves, but they seemed to be working with the print and the overall mood of the outfit...

Lately I'm pulled in two totally different directions: one is more minimalist, makes me to go for T-shirts and jeans, undertones and clean cuts... The other one loves ruffles, flowers, everything pattern and textured (the more the merrier)... And I don't know to which part to succumb each time I'm getting dressed (I know every girl has this problem but the intensity of this inner conflict is really confusing me)...

Anyway, even though it is confusing I do love to have those kind of shifts, because it makes fashion and dressing much more interesting and challenging... Just when you think you had your whole wardrobe figured out... Something else comes up: new aesthetic, new blogger, new city and makes you reconsider your whole approach towards clothes...

A little bit of edge

After browsing my blog, I realized that it hardly showed my edgier side, and mostly I choose to go for soft and romantic... Which is totally OK but doesn't really reflect the way I dress in real life as a whole. I do of course wear dresses, flowered skirts etc, but also I love studs, I have plenty of black clothes and I even own leather jacket (three actually) :)

So when I decided to make a post with my new Balenciaga shoes, I wanted go for an edgier version (far from being really edgy, which unfortunately I will never pull off). Hence, the leather, even though it was way too hot for leather, I loved the contrast between the lighting and the outfit... And I had lots of fun with the halter (that's why there are so many pictures in this post), probably will use it again is other posts!

The shirt was made by me, skirt is vintage from "Stella" boutique, vest: "Bezalel" market, belt: Castro, shoes: Balenciaga.

This outfit aside, I have another topic I wanted to discuss... While lusting after amazing vintage sequined dress, I couldn't quite justify buying it...It is amazing! So right for everything that is going on in fashion right now, it's simply not practical for where I live and I doubt I will have the courage to actually go out wearing it, at least here in Israel...

Have no doubts, I did buy it! But this subject is a bit sensitive since my closet contains plenty of clothes I enjoy owning and collecting (I plan to be a serious vintage collector when I'll grow up:))) but wore only once or twice (some are still waiting)... And I still wouldn't sell them even for twice the money I paid for it! Should I think about it as "Fashion is Art" thing, or maybe it's just simply very unpractical of me?

P.S: Starting from tomorrow (or the day after) I will publish the Hebrew version of the blog on

Have a great week !

Post vacation

Well I'm home and still can't believe it...it's funny how fast we get used to things...for instance I really got used to New York, and now it really feels weird to be in my room at home...But one of the obvious reasons for my post vacation blues is that I left alone...meaning my boyfriend is still there...

Photobucket

So I know I promised a proper outfit post but while going through the photos (and sobbing) I saw the pictures that were taken at MOMA, so I decided it will be a good way to present my new Chloe blouse...I just couldn't resist the color, the scallops, the fabric, the cut...it is simply perfect to me...

Photobucket

Besides it was a fun day and my last in NY, so it's a nice way to conclude this
whole trip...Hope to come back soon!

Photobucket

I'm wearing a Chloe blouse, Zara jacket, Urban Outfitters skirt, Zara bag...
Well, now I'm off to watch Grey's Anatomy...

New York New York

Only 2 days left and if I could I would stop time...This city is amazing and people who live here are very lucky, there's so much of everything!

It's kind of hard for me to tell about everything I did, so I'll let the pictures talk...:) Oh and sorry I wasn't very fashionable tourist, I gave up heels completely!!!

Photobucket

I loved (and photographed each time I saw one) the squirrels at the Central Park...such a lovely quiet oasis in the middle of this noisy city!!!

Little Italy and Chinatown are great, so colorful...I don't think the real Italy look as Italian as this neighborhood!!!:) Notice the stylish lady passing by on the first pic...

My new favorite thing are cheescakes: they come in different flavors and they are amazing...I love the Red Velvet from Magnolia bakery...perfection!

Photobucket

I promise I will post a picture of the cheescakes before I ate them, it's just not on my camera:)

Last but not least, the Topshop store I visited was every girl's dream...sequins sequins sequins...but I didn't get anything there, even though they carry everything we don't have here...Instead I did some shopping at topman for my boyfriend and his friend...But this store is totally a must!

Photobucket

Well, that's it...next time I will be blogging from Israel, with a proper outfit post and more photos!
